Principal Photography of Milton’s Secret begins in Hamilton, Ontario

The Principal Photography for the movie, Milton’s Secret, begins in Hamilton Ontario on September 21st and is scheduled for completion on October 24, 2015.

Milton’s Secret is based on the 2008 children’s book “Milton’s Secret: An Adventure of Discovery Through Then, When, and the Power of Now” by Eckhart Tolle and Robert S. Friedman. The movie is about an eight-year-old who’s bullied at school as his teacher trying to lift his spirits while his grandfather shows him the secret to finding true happiness.

The shooting schedule will bring stars Donald Sutherland (Hunger Games) and Michelle Rodriguez (Fast and Furious) to the Canadian city. William Ainscough, Mia Kirshner and David Sutcliffe will also be on set as Milton and his family.

Barnet Bain, a producer on What Dreams May Come and Homeless to Harvard, will also be in attendance to direct the family drama, and he wrote the script with Donald Martin.

“We chose Hamilton because of their film-friendly infrastructure,” shares Stephen Huszar, producer from Hulo Films. “We were looking for locations that could support a family-oriented film and provide the flexibility for the diversity of the scenes.”

Hamilton is a Canadian port city on the western tip of Lake Ontario. Films such as Strange Brew, Hearts Of Fire, Amerika, The Cutting Edge, The Air Up There, Canadian Bacon, The Long Kiss Goodnight and The Big Hit have been shot in Hamilton.

“We are very excited to start filming and to make this script come to life,” smiles Huszar.  It’s an important and family-friendly message that we know will have a positive impact on the world.”

The film is set to be released in September 2016 and will be shown in theatres around North America.
