MILTON’S SECRET FEATURED AT VANCOUVER’S FILM FESTIVAL
The premiere was graced by a number of the film’s cast and crew, including its director Barnet Bain, and stars Mia Kirshner and William Ainscough, who played Jane Adams and her son Milton, respectively.
It was a packed house as many people turned up to watch the movie’s premiere which to Bain was “mindblowing” and “heartblowing”.
For the Vancouver native Ainscough, it was a memorable and exciting homecoming. “Being in my hometown seeing a movie that I worked on is just so amazing,” the young actor remarked.
It is not uncommon for people to spend their whole live waiting to start living. #eckharttolle #mindfulness
The film tells the story of 11-year old Milton Adams who’s been struggling in his life because of his parents’ struggles and being bullied in school, feeling uncertain about his future. But thanks to his grandfather, played by no less than Donald Sutherland, he discovers the true happiness one can find in life, living moment by moment.
“We had a dream (about this movie) and we fell in love with the story and the idea,” said Bain, who also happened to have produced another spiritual film, 1997’s “What Dreams May Come” which starred Robin Williams.
Kirshner, known for her work in the TV series “24” and “The L Word”, also feels proud of the film. “It was a very special film. I feel very lucky to be a part of it,” she said.
The cast and crew in attendance also graced a short Q & A where they talked about being part of the film and making it. Eckhart Tolle’s reaction to the film was also talked about in the Q & A in which Bain remarked that Tolle was “deeply, deeply gratified” with how the film turned out.
